Stephan Weibelzahl is a Senior Researcher in the National e-Learning Laboratory (NELL) at the National College of Ireland. He is also Lecturer in the School of Computing. Most of his teaching and research is concerned with exploiting technology for learning. Examples include, the use of artificial intelligence to identify disengaged learners in on-line courses, exploring and improving the user experience and learning experience, facilitating collaborative learning and finding a suitable blend of learning activities for different target groups.
Stephan has published widely on the subject and is highly active in the research community. He has been involved in a number of European and national research projects, but nevertheless tries to keep an open mind for meaningful applications of research results in practice.
