Prowlster is an online lifestyle magazine that you can shop. It was founded by the three Mc Ginn sisters who were selected to take part in the NDRC Launchpad programme for high potential start-ups. The co-founders explored the idea of ‘magazine commerce’ and built out the Prowlster platform to prove that there was a thirst for original, inspirational content with an option to ‘shop what you see’ directly off editorial. Prowlster won an award for Exceptional Marketing from the Irish Internet Association and were then competitively selected to take part in the Irish Times FUSION programme where they are currently about to pitch to a global panel of investors and brand agencies. The Prowlster team are also building another platform called Shopflix; an evolution of the Prowlster concept, but with a focus more personalised shopping. Shopflix allows users to ‘build their own personalised department store’ and shop across multiple retailers. Shopflix is aimed at the U.S market and the team intend to take both products to New York by January 2014.
